Globalia’s 7th Annual Meeting in Bangkok Marks 10 Years and a New Chapter for the Network

Over three days at the InterContinental Bangkok,  freight forwarders gathered for the network’s 7th Annual Meeting, a decade-defining milestone that brought a fresh look, a renewed vision, and a few well-earned trophies

More than 70 freight forwarding professionals gathered at the InterContinental Bangkok from 26 to 28 October for Globalia Logistics Network’s 7th Annual Meeting. The three days were filled with one-to-one business meetings, networking and discussions on new opportunities for international cooperation. The occasion carried extra weight because Globalia is turning ten. The network used the Bangkok stage to unveil a new brand identity and a slogan for its next chapter: Forward. Together.

Ten years is a long time in logistics. Routes change, technologies arrive, and entire markets rearrange themselves. What tends to last is the handshake. Globalia was founded in 2016 by Antonio Torres with a simple purpose: to connect independent logistics companies through reliable partnerships. As it enters its second decade, the network does so with a modernised visual identity and a clear strategic vision. The new slogan is deliberate. It looks to the future while holding on to the philosophy that built the network, which puts the quality of its membership and the strength of the relationships between members ahead of sheer size.

For three days, the InterContinental Bangkok became a meeting point for the world of independent freight forwarding. Delegates arrived from different markets and time zones, many of them long-standing partners who had so far worked together mostly through emails, quotations and shipment updates. In Bangkok they had the chance to sit down across the table.

The one-to-one business meetings remained the core of the programme, as they have been at every Globalia gathering. Each member had dedicated time to present their services, discuss their strengths and explore new trade lanes. They also had time to identify the right partners for future shipments. In an industry where a shipment often passes through unfamiliar hands in distant ports, a conversation in person can do what no directory listing can. It shows who you can trust.

Globalia Logistics Network - Founder Members Special AwardOne of the most memorable moments of the anniversary celebrations came with the presentation of special commemorative trophies to long-standing members who have been with Globalia for roughly ten years. The awards recognised the companies that joined in the network’s early days and have contributed to its growth ever since.

Reflecting on the network’s first decade, Paul and Silvana Petrovski of PCFS Logistics, founder members of Globalia in Sydney, Australia, say: “Over the last ten years, we have built not only strong business partnerships through Globalia but also genuine friendships with agents around the world. Many of these relationships remain among our strongest today. What matters most is knowing that when we entrust a shipment to another member, it will be handled with the same care and professionalism we would provide ourselves.”

The meeting also gave newcomers a warm entry into the network. This year’s gathering welcomed many new members, who had the opportunity to introduce their companies to the wider network, meet potential partners and establish connections with experienced colleagues.

Between the scheduled meetings, the networking and the wider discussions on international cooperation, the atmosphere was one of genuine exchange. Torres sums up the thinking behind it:

“Our meetings allow members to get to know one another beyond emails and quotations. That personal connection is what helps turn an introduction into a lasting business relationship.”

— Antonio Torres, President of Globalia Logistics Network

The anniversary was also a chance to look back at how far the network has come. Alongside its international membership, Globalia has developed additional resources to support members’ business development, visibility and day-to-day operations, all while keeping the personal approach at the centre of its philosophy.

Globalia Marks 10 Years with a New Identity, Anniversary Video and an upcoming Annual Meeting in Bangkok

Following the unveiling of its refreshed brand identity, Globalia releases a commemorative video celebrating a decade of trusted partnerships as the network prepares to gather in Bangkok this October

Globalia Logistics Network is celebrating ten years of connecting freight agents across the globe. To mark this milestone, it has unveiled a refreshed visual identity, a new tagline—”Forward. Together.” and a special anniversary video featuring reflections from its members. The video offers members and partners a first look at the story behind the network ahead of its upcoming Annual Meeting in Bangkok in October.

The video opens with a message from Globalia’s Director, Antonio Torres, who traces the network’s origins back to a simple premise: bring reliable freight forwarders together and turn business connections into long-standing, profitable partnerships. The video really comes alive through its members, with voices from across the Globalia map. Paul and Silvana Petrovski from PCFS Logistics join in from Sydney, while Chandrasenan Krishnan of Antares Logistics shares the Mumbai side of the story. Fellipe Serra of LAC Worldwide brings in the Itajaí perspective, and Ishmael Oduro Marfo of BAJ Freight and Logistics speaks for the network’s presence in Ghana. Michael Gowrie of Remiro Freight Services adds his take from Globalia Amsterdam, and David Guillermo Maidana and Mauricio Regner of CIS Global Services round things out with the Buenos Aires perspective.

What comes through in all these stories is how a handful of early connections and face-to-face meetings turned into real, lasting partnerships, and how the network kept growing over the years without losing the personal touch that made it work in the first place.

Globalia Logistics Network 10th Anniversary

Founded in 2016 with 30 members, Globalia has grown into an international community currently represented in 120 countries. The network has followed a selective approach to expansion rather than pursuing unrestricted membership growth, assessing companies on their experience, financial standing, and reliability before admission.

“Globalia was never created to be the largest freight forwarding network. Our objective has always been to bring together reliable companies and build a network where members receive personal attention and have real opportunities to develop business together,” says Antonio Torres, President and Founder of Globalia Logistics Network. “But above all, it is our members who have made Globalia grow. What began as a network has become a close international community that, over the years, we have come to consider a family. Their trust and commitment are what have allowed us to reach this milestone.”

Globalia members themselves point to both the commercial and personal value of the network: “Globalia has opened up the world to us, allowing us to work with trusted and reliable partners and reach countries where doing business can otherwise be difficult because of trust. It has also helped us grow our business through the network,” say Paul and Silvana Petrovski of PCFS.

Mauricio Regner of CIS Global Services adds: “It is not just about the business opportunities or growth, but also about the human side. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to get to know members personally and build relationships that go beyond business.”

Over the past decade, Globalia Logistics Network has also expanded the resources available to members, including international promotional campaigns, marketing and social media support, FreightViewer, its online quotation tool, and professional development opportunities through partnerships with CIFFA and TraversEd.

To mark the anniversary, Globalia has unveiled a refreshed visual identity and new logo under the slogan “Forward. Together.” The new identity reflects the network’s evolution while maintaining the principles on which it was built: collaboration, reliability, personal support and long-term business relationships.

“Ten years is an important milestone, but it is also a starting point,” says Torres. “Our next stage will focus on creating greater visibility and stronger business opportunities for our members, developing more effective digital tools and continuing to provide the personalised support that has always been part of Globalia.”

The release of this video comes at a meaningful moment for Globalia. The network will gather in Bangkok from October 26th to 28th for its 7th Annual Meeting, an occasion that doubles as a celebration of ten years of growth and collaboration. The event will bring together independent freight forwarders from more than 100 countries at the InterContinental Bangkok, with delegates taking part in personalized one-to-one meetings across the two main conference days.

Globalia - Annual Meeting

Ten years on, Globalia’s growth reflects the same principle that guided its founding: one carefully selected member per city, chosen not simply to expand the network but to strengthen it. For freight forwarders seeking a genuine, exclusive alternative to open-membership networks, Globalia continues to offer a professional and supportive environment where independent companies can thrive internationally.

Freight forwarders interested in learning more about membership can schedule a personalized consultation with the Globalia team to explore how the network’s exclusivity, global reach, and trusted partnerships can support long-term business growth.

Rishi Desai from Globalia Hazira Surat on Growth, Partnerships, and the Power of Networking

“Having already been part of several logistics networks, we wanted to align ourselves with a network that prioritizes the quality of its agents over sheer quantity. We are proud to say that being part of the network has helped us secure a substantial volume of business and build valuable long-term collaborations.”

As Globalia Logistics Network marks its 10th anniversary, we are speaking with members who have helped shape the network’s success through their commitment, collaboration, and active participation. In this special interview with Rishi Desai, Director of LogiBeats, Globalia member in Hazira Surat, India, we get to know about the company’s journey, the value it has gained from the network, and its vision for the future of freight forwarding.

From building long-term partnerships across continents to embracing new industry trends, Rishi shares his insights on what makes Globalia a valuable community and why active participation continues to be the key to lasting success.

Q. Could you briefly introduce LogiBeats and tell us about your company’s journey so far?

A. Founded in January 2017 as Caretaker Logistics with just three dedicated employees, LogiBeats has grown into a thriving organization of over 32 professionals. As we approach a successful decade in the logistics industry, we proudly serve more than 500 trusted customers through several branches across India. Rooted in Surat, the textile and diamond capital of India and home to the port city of Hazira, LogiBeats continues to expand its footprint while staying true to its values of reliability, efficiency, and customer trust.

Q. What initially motivated you to join the network?

A. Globalia is a unique platform that grants entry to only a single agent from each region, ensuring exclusivity and quality representation. Having already been part of several logistics networks, we wanted to align ourselves with a network that prioritizes the quality of its agents over sheer quantity.

“We are living in a new world where war, AI, automation, and abrupt policy changes have been accepted as the “normal.” At LogiBeats, we recognize these shifts and are continuously evolving to meet them head-on. Our strategy includes recruiting fresh talent and enhancing the skill sets of our existing team members, ensuring that we remain agile, resilient, and future-ready in this dynamic environment.”

Q. Looking back, what have been the biggest benefits of being part of Globalia?

A. We are proud to share that we have secured a substantial volume of business from India to Colombia and a few project cargoes to Africa. Moreover, these opportunities have also strengthened our confidence in the value of working with trusted network partners.

Q. Your company is one of the network’s most active members. Why do you believe it’s important to stay actively engaged?

A. Being active helps an organization promote its services to members within the network. One of Globalia’s unique incentives is the referral program, which helps organizations earn discounts on their membership fee.

Q. Have you developed any valuable partnerships, friendships, or long-term business relationships through Globalia? Could you share an example?

A. Yes, we have built a very strong, long-lasting business relationship with the agent North Carga S.A.S., Globalia member in Bogota, Colombia. Through them, we have gained access to some of the country’s biggest pharmaceutical companies. We can firmly confirm that North Carga has been our loyal partner since June 2025. Additionally, over the years, we have successfully managed numerous shipments, but two in particular stand out for the project business they generated for our company. These shipments were facilitated through trusted network partners and contributed meaningfully to our growth.

Q. What advice would you give to members who are not yet taking full advantage of the opportunities the network offers?

A. We have been observing the significant volume of business being exchanged within the network. At LogiBeats, our philosophy has always been to consign shipments to our network partners, as we believe this is the best way to initiate relationships that grow into long-lasting collaborations. We strongly encourage all partners within the network to adopt the same approach, fostering mutual trust and sustainable growth for everyone involved.

Q. Logistics is constantly evolving. What trends do you think will have the greatest impact on the industry over the next few years, and how is LogiBeats preparing for them?

A. We are living in a new world where war, AI, automation, and abrupt policy changes have been accepted as the “normal.” At LogiBeats, we recognize these shifts and are continuously evolving to meet them head-on. Our strategy includes recruiting fresh talent and enhancing the skill sets of our existing team members, ensuring that we remain agile, resilient, and future-ready in this dynamic environment.

Q. As Globalia celebrates its 10th anniversary, what are your hopes for the network’s future?

A. We sincerely hope that Globalia continues to expand its territory and strengthen its agent network, thereby creating even greater opportunities for collaboration. In addition, we believe that conducting webinars and training sessions on current market topics would add significant value to members.

Regional webinars, such as Inter-Asia and Inter-Africa sessions, would further enhance visibility and foster stronger connections among agents within the network. These initiatives would not only enrich knowledge but also build deeper engagement and trust among partners.

Q. Finally, what message would you like to share with your fellow Globalia members?

A. It is a great group of people and a great community to work with. At LogiBeats, we firmly believe that consigning shipments within the network is the best way to initiate relationships that grow into long-lasting partnerships. We encourage all fellow members to embrace this philosophy by supporting one another, exchanging business, and building visibility across regions. Together, we can strengthen the network, create sustainable growth, and ensure that Globalia continues to stand out as a community that values quality over quantity. Let us move forward united, with a shared vision of reliability, transparency, and mutual success.
