Forward. Together.- Globalia’s 7th Annual Meeting In Our Members’ Words

Globalia members reflect on the connections, partnerships and shared achievements celebrated at the network’s 7th Annual Meeting in Bangkok

Ten years of building connections across the global logistics industry is a milestone worth celebrating. And as Globalia Logistics Network marked its 10th anniversary during its 7th Annual Meeting in Bangkok, from 26 to 28 October 2026, the occasion became even more meaningful through the messages shared by members. When the final handshakes were exchanged in Bangkok, the 7th Globalia Logistics Network Annual Meeting did not simply end. It moved into the inboxes, social feeds and everyday conversations of the members who had been there.

We are grateful to all our members who took the time to share their congratulations, experiences and thoughts following the meeting. Their words capture the spirit behind our anniversary theme, Forward. Together. Rather than summarise the meeting ourselves, we thought it only right to let the members tell it. Here are some of the reflections they shared.

Before the Meeting: Arriving with Purpose

Anticipation built long before the first welcome reception. Members arrived in Thailand with clear goals, eager to meet partners face to face. Talita dos Santos of Ecco-Freight Transport Services, member in Valencia, Spain announced her arrival ready to connect with global partners and discuss how to elevate their supply chains. Azmain Bhuiyan of CML Consolidation & Logistics Services, member in Chittagong, Bangladesh came looking to exchange ideas and explore new opportunities in global logistics. For both, the three days were a chance to turn familiar names into face-to-face partnerships.

Bringing an International Logistics Community Together

The value of an annual meeting lies in the opportunity to bring people together. For freight forwarders working across international markets, meeting partners in person provides a chance to strengthen existing relationships, exchange experiences and explore possibilities that may develop into future collaborations.

Sherif Dawod of EGY Logistics, Globalia member in Cairo Egypt, highlighted precisely this aspect of the Bangkok gathering. Proud to have participated in Globalia’s 7th Annual Meeting, he described it as a valuable opportunity to reconnect with global partners, meet new members, exchange experiences and explore new business opportunities across international markets. Mr. Dawod also emphasised a belief that resonates throughout the logistics industry: strong relationships are the foundation of successful logistics solutions. Looking ahead, EGY Logistics is excited to turn the connections made during the meeting into stronger partnerships and new opportunities worldwide.

For Ziegler South Africa, Globalia member in Johannesburg, represented by Zelna Minnie, the meeting was a chance to hear what is happening at origin and destination, discuss routing options and find ways to make shipments run more smoothly for customers.

Following the event, she highlighted the importance of connecting with freight partners in person and working closely across borders. “These relationships help us work closely across borders and keep our customers’ cargo moving. It’s always valuable to spend time together in person. Thank you to the Globalia team for bringing everyone together, and congratulations on 10 years!” These reflections underline an important part of Globalia’s purpose: creating opportunities for independent freight forwarders to build trusted relationships with partners in different markets and work together more closely.

The value of being in the same room

The strength of an international logistics network becomes particularly evident when members recognise the role that collaboration plays in moving cargo across borders. Guillermo Aguilar of Pacifica Customs Logistics, member in Monterrey, Mexico, put it vividly. Behind every container that reaches a customer’s warehouse, he wrote, there is an invisible network of people coordinating ports, customs and routes around the world. In Bangkok, he said, that network was shaking hands, so that clients working with Pacifica can be certain their cargo is backed at every kilometre of the journey and every port of origin.

By bringing together partners from different countries, the event reinforced the relationships that support cargo movements across international routes. It is this network of people, expertise and local knowledge that gives international partnerships their practical value.

The anniversary celebrations in Bangkok also offered members an opportunity to recognise how far Globalia has come since its beginnings.

Bimsara Perera of Benchmark Logistics International, member in Colombo, Sri Lanka, shared his pride in celebrating the network’s 10th anniversary, expressing gratitude for the recognition and for the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the logistics industry and its global partnerships. His message reflected the shared enthusiasm of members looking towards the next chapter, with continued success and many more milestones ahead.

Recognising a Decade of Commitment: The 10-Year Foundation Member Award

One of the memorable moments of Globalia’s 10th-anniversary celebrations in Bangkok was the recognition of its foundation members through the 10-Year Foundation Member Award. These companies have been part of Globalia since its earliest days, contributing to the relationships and international collaboration that have shaped the network over the past decade. The awards were a tribute to their continued commitment and the role they have played in Globalia’s journey.

For some members, Bangkok was an opportunity to celebrate a journey they have been part of from the very beginning. PCFS Logistics, Globalia member in Sydney, Australia, represented by Paul Petrovski, Silvana Petrovski and Tim O’Brien, marked the occasion as a proud foundation member of Globalia. As Silvana Petrovski noted, ” We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the 10-Year Foundation Member Award. It was a very special moment to see all the founding members recognised and acknowledged for their continued commitment to the network. Having been part of Globalia since its inception, we are extremely proud and grateful to have witnessed its growth and success over the past decade.”

As Globalia enters its second decade, the messages received from members are a welcome reminder of what makes the network meaningful. The annual meeting may bring everyone together for a few days, but the conversations, trust and partnerships developed through these gatherings continue long after delegates return home.
